>> Does the Alnitak stars system have an inhabited planet?
It's a triple star. I doubt any planets form in a system with that much gravitational tearing

>> Is the inscription asking for help, military or humanitarian?
It's 800 light years away. You're wondering if an interstellar civilization with technology and knowledge to travel 800 light years in a reasonable time would stagger over to a planet of shaved chimpanzees barely out of the "throw rocks at each other" technology to ask for help.

I'm gonna say "no." If they've got that kind of tech, they can build robots that would be better than any human and they've already solved the artificial intelligence problem and genetic engineering would be so common that it'd be done in coffee shops (or the equivalent.)

Assuming there's a planet there, which is quite unlikely.
