1) Please take a spot in the temperate zone, North or South... and randomly select a compass direction that is between 0 degrees and 26 degrees or 270 and 286 degrees...

2) Now extrapolate it around the circumference of the globe.

While far from an in-exhaustive test, I played with 2 or 3 of these and EVERY ONE HIT SOMETHING, or close to something, of note.

One I tested hit the Yucatan, another hit India at the Indus effluent to the sea...
A third passes damn close to Hawaii..

My thoughts are it would be far more surprising if you DIDN'T hot some significant feature. With features packed anywhere from a dozen miles to a few hundred, and the equator measuring 24,000 miles plus... to claim these hits are intentional is unproven at the very least.
