I decided to take a look at the sphinx. Does this relate to something when Jesus was born. Bauval has related it to the constellation of Leo as it shows up in the East. Others consider it a Sun symbol. Since it is looking East it could refer to the rising of the Sun(dawn).

What could be encoded is the altitude or the azimuth of a certain celestial body. I took a look at the azimuth when rising of 40 of the stars with the greatest apparent magnitude. I had previously computed the Kafre pyramid – sphinx angle. I took four coordinates on the sphinx. The tail, the front part of the paws, the center point of the previous, and the face of the sphinx. The outcome is that I found 1 star that was closest , but the previous sphinx angles were a bit larger than the astral rise time – where the altitude of the star is 0 degrees. When a star’s altitude is 0 degrees it is not actually visible.

Looking at the values I noticed that if we take the center of the sphinx and move the time forward so that a perfect azimuth match occurs – in regards to the sphinx and this star, I noted down the altitude of the star at this instant. I remind everybody that this is Dec 25 1 AD at Bethlehem. I also updated to the latest Starry Night Pro 6.3.9 software so everything is perfect. I then computed the angle from the Kafre pyramid to the sphinx top taking into account the local height only and not the altitude.

Thus taking the inverse sine of the product of the given sphinx height and the center Kafre base to center sphinx base length, I computed the sphinx slope from the observer perspective (Kafre central pyramid). The angle turned out to be exactly equal to the star altitude when aligning perfectly azimuth wise with the sphinx. The Starry Night visualization shows us the three Orion belt stars just above the natural horizon. A perfect picture. So yes the star in question is Alnitak. The sphinx has the face of a man.
