I don’t think the AEs planed the Giza pyramid layout. The names of these celestial bodies were in Greek Poseidon/Oceanus, and Uranus. It’s possible that there were Egyptian names but I haven’t found any yet.
So according to Spence the eastern baseline of the Great Pyramid was set in October 2478, +-5 years, BC. Since Romer considers the construction duration to be 14 years this would mean that the pyramid was completed at about October 2464, +-5 years. This of course if we don't add an extra error margin since we can only speculate on the time it took them to complete it.
My proposition is that the ancient planners - not necessarily AE's - were interested in alignments of bodies very far from us - celestial bodies that take a long time to complete a whole curve around the Sun. Also their mass should be large so their trajectory will not be changed even slightly by runaway asteroids - planetoids - comets etc. This would mean that gas giants were ideal - and especially the most farthest from the Sun of like Neptune and Uranus. It seems that the alignment of Neptune - Uranus - and Earth, occurs every 172 years or so. If another planet would happen to align more or less at the same time this would be a pretty good time marker – something that would be worth encoding. If we take an earlier date by about 21 months for the time of completion of the GP - in other words if they completed the pyramid at October 24 2466 BC then we whould notice that we have perfect alignment between Neptune and Uranus. Also Jupiter is close by.
P.S. The previous time Neptune aligned with Uranus was during Khasekhemui’s(Romer) or Nebka’s (Lehner) reign (2637 BC). This was supposedly just before the first pyramid was built in Saqqara (Djozer’s). The next time Neptune and Uranus aligned was at 2294 BC (Teti’s reign)
Here are some dates:
