I agree. The nature of numbers, i.e. the various axioms associated with them, present many inventive conjectures that can be systematically gathered and presented as code rather than truth. Such play on a persons intelligence may have given advantage thousands of years ago when discovery was still in its infancy. It all falls to the emotions of a person verses the truth they avoid, a sort of quick fix to explain what does not exist. Truth (Maat) can be secured in numbers when measurement is required, but even then there are significant limits, add a mystical bend and you have numerology as a bastard so unlike real observation (astronomy, math etc.).
