I welcome all reasonable questioning, Clive. I have some questions for you, too.
BTW, nice to meet you. I take it you observed the following:
Illustration 16. The ratio of the two diagonals is equal to the square root of three.

It is my pleasure to confirm that you are right! That was absolutely the intended idea by the designers. How come no one has thought of that one before?

Yes, I did. Look at these figures:
1 Cubit = 0.523722 meter (my version)
distance P1S to P3S
Petrie's version = 1292.22217660
exact reconstruction = 1292.21991418
distance P1NE to P3SW
Petrie's version = 2238.14116354
exact reconstruction = 2238.17736249
sq. root of 5 x 1000 = 2236.06
Petrie
2238.14116354 / 1292.22217660
= 1.732009
Reconstruction
2238.17736249 / 1292.21991418
= 1.732040
which is highly precise, only 1/100000 off
Your value given on the page:
2238.9 / 1292.8
= 1.731822
It is off a lot more than any of the above, to mention accuracy once again. On your page, you rounded the result, and so improved it.
My reconstruction thrives on finely calibrated values. My implementation of your idea works significantly better. I am not surprised, as this type of event just keeps happening. The exact reconstruction seems to provide a little better environment than Petrie's plan for many of the ideas floating around. In my opinion, you might do better accepting my framework for the layout as the basis for your further research. You shall experience increased accuracy, and discover more features of the plan.
I also checked illustration 15 :
"The diagonal measure (1292.8 Rc) from P3 to P2
equals the vertical distance from P3 to P1 (1292.61)."
Well, it actually misses P2NE corner by 0,2 cubit.
That is coincidence. It is not helpful in an exact reconstruction.
Though it only misses by 0.1 cubit in the reconstruction.
