Hi all ...
I have uncovered, thanks to the relentless work of C. Wayne Taylor what I feel is unquestionably the answer to what base unit was used at Giza. Firstly I must link you to an amazing discovery of Wayne's where he found that from a certain point on the west side of P3 (1/4 mark) up to the three corners of P1 yielded the result square roots 5,6 and 7 respectively. See his diagram here: [

Now I felt that if these three were here then the rest (at least up to 9) must surely be here as well and so I studied the picture a little closer and came up with this ... [
img142.imageshack.us] You can see how from the west side of P3 the distances to each side of P1 is square root 2,3 and 4 respectively.
But I still wasn't satisfied. Since we had found the square roots of 2 through 7 I felt sure that the rest must be there and indeed they were. Please see this image.
So there we had it the square roots of 2 through 10 situated in plain view on The Giza Plateau but Wayne had assigned an arbitrary figure of 2 for the distance from the west side of P3 to the east side of P1. Was there an logical reason or could we come up with a logical reason for doing this and indeed I could. Firstly we have to remember that the distance of Wayne's "2" distance was and is 1414.214 cubits. As I had noted before this was EXACTLY 1000 times the double remen which is 1.41421 or square root of 2. This would make Wayne's "1" 1000 TIMES A REMEN OR 707.10678 CUBITS. So I now contend that the base unit used at Giza was The Remen ( actually 1000 times The Remen) and in the future if we use this in our calculations it will all start to make perfect sense at Giza.
Thank you Wayne and thank you Ancient Egyptians !
Best
