Yes, it looks like the currently reality of the site may not be what some people involved are thinking it is like.

As Hermione pointed out, even the assumption that they have the right to move these stones is problematic - we are not in the 19th century anymore and much more care and discussion would be expected. I am going to send a letter to the museum.
