"The Sphinx's attributes include this toponymic epithet: "he who presides over Setepet." This word is derived from the root setep ("to choose, elect"), and it thus designates the sanctuary as the "chosen place." (Zivie-Coche 2002 (1997): 72)


In the NK, the enclosure around the Sphinx was the chosen place of 'Horus in the Akhet' (Hrw m Axtj)
