Those particular stellar alignments would be relatively localised in extent , in terms of time and place, but also it's a given that the Sphinx was understood as 'Lord of the chosen place'...so who are we to argue?



Having said that the design holds good for Abusir and Dashur, the alignments relative to a centralized position concept probably having been developed at a far earlier date, in the classic 'stone circle' manner, Giza just uses very big stones and lots of them.
