Petrie. Pyramids and Temples. Ch. 7, Sec 42. Queen's Chamber Course Heights.
There are some values in the table that seem suspect to me. Perhaps someone here has some thoughts.
The table lists the mean height above the "floor" for each course at the corners and then lists the deviations at each corner. Since the joints do not align horizontally at the corners, there are seperate values for each side of each corner.
1. The values at L12 and N12 are clearly not normal deviations, yet Petrie does not mention any peculiarities in that area. Nor does the sum of the deviations equal zero.
2. With the exceptions of C9 and F8, all of the end wall values are higher than the corresponding side wall values. The F8 value is greater than any other regular corner joint deviation except for the L12 and N12 values mentioned above. The C9 value would be "normal" if the sign was reversed. The sum of the deviations for both courses indicate that the stated values are intended.
