I think you've been misinformed somewhere.

As it happens, I'm a real anthropologist with a number of published papers (and one to be given at a conference this February.) Egyptology, as you may remember, is one of the subspecialties of anthropology.

Now, I'm not sure where you got the idea that math is not a prerequisite. In fact, it is and so is statistics and mapping and using programs like GIS. You might find it interesting to look at some of the university websites and get an idea of how much work is involved in becoming an Egyptologist.

Please don't assume the board is inhabited by folks who only get their information from a few websites on the internet.
