"this period is dated to about 2250 BCE"
-- I assume you are referring to Abram from the Ebla Tablets. Has it been proven that this is the same Abram or Abraham as in the old testament? Or could it just be a similar name/coincidence?
Biblical genealogy has Abraham 6 generations before Moses (or 14 before Solomon). My timeline(22 years/gen) says Abraham lived at the time of the Trojan War (~1200-1178 BC).
Regardless of 2250BC or 1200BC... neither timeline is pre-dynastic, like the original author or the article claimed.

Unrelated, about a year ago there was an article about a new interpretation on the pyramid of Unas. This article called the passage semitic, and said at the time of Unas (~2375BC), the Semites believed in a "Mother Snake" as their deity.
Note: I can't vouch for the credibility of this "Pyramid Text Translation".

"Moses in Egypt is acknowledged in the Bible not as a priest, but only as part of the royal household"
-- Correct. Very nice explanation. As stated earlier, the priest idea comes from Manetho (via Josephus).

"Avaris was Typho's [10] city. But when these men had entered it, and found it suitable for a revolt, they chose
a ruler from among the priests of Heliopolis, whose name was Osarsiph [9]."
However, my guess is that Osarsiph may be unrelated to Moses.
