This testing of yours is turning out to be most informative, so please, please keep up the good work.
If the block you are using is not budging, then a block several times bigger (thus having a greater area of contact between the two surfaces) and heavier (gravity braking effect increased?), then I think we are going to end up with proof that the granite blocks in the Ascending Passage could have been stored on the Grand Gallery floor without any kind of restraint.
Ah well, never mind, I was never too keen on that wooden beams across the Gallery idea, anyway...
Would I be right in thinking that if it can be shown that these blocks would not move unaided, then the next phase would be to determine what force need be applied to get the little blighters trundling safely down to the bottom end of the Ascending Passage?
Now, whilst RLH continues (hopefully) with his experimenting, would anybody here care to fathom out what the rectangular holes in the top of the Gallery ramps were for?
