In another thread there was a discussion about the plug stones at the bottom of Khufu’s ascending passage. I stated that at about 26.5 degrees the ascending passage would not be steep enough for the plugs to slide down by gravity. So rather then just take my word for it I thought I would provide some proof.
The cement block behind the level weighs about 10 pounds and the ramp is set at 30.2 degrees. With a lesser angle of about 26.5 degrees for the ascending passage and GG there is from what I can tell no chance the plug stones would need to be held back from sliding.
I also want to note that the level has a very smooth bottom side and it also is not sliding on the 30.2 degree ramp. I did notice that at about 32.5 degrees the block would stay in place but with a slight nudge it would start a sustained slide to the bottom.
Thanks to a heads up from MJ Thomas the portcullis system in the Bent Pyramid has a blocking stone set on a ramp with an angle of about 32.5 degrees. From this it would appear that before the GP was built the AE were aware of this slip angle and knew the plug stones in the GP would not slide down to block the ascending passage.
