I personally don't see any links to winches or windlasses in the word "Dd". I don't think we have a complete understanding about all the aspects of what "djed" means, but the nearest so far is "enduring" and "continuous". And while the idea is linked directly to power, it is not this kind of power that is meant. IMO.
