I don't believe that either. On the other hand, really, you don't need maths/geometry and 'squaring of the circle'-stuff to lay down extended rows of stone-blocks ..... that actually are nothing more than quadrangles of diminishing size piled on top of each other. The simple fact that the stone-blocks differ tremendously in size, prooves that the courses were laid fast, at least that there was no need of 'nice and tidy'-laid courses. I am pretty convinced that, if we should demolish the gp from its top down, we would discover many fissures and cavities of differing proportions in the quadrangles (the courses). It was the core (the resurrection-mechanism) = the inner cavities (chambers, shafts, etc.), that was the most important and the casing-stones, for the sealing of the monument. When a course reached the locations where the cavities were planned to come, work slowed down and real planning was needed. But knowing that the core of e.g. the gp was just a tiny fraction of the overall mass of the pyramid, imo, not much planning was needed for the overall construction.
