So the Egyptologists state that the ladder is really a canal or pools. That does make sense.
If it were a ladder it would not be lying on the ground. They also say he is swimming and that the dots are metal indicators... like gold. IIRC.

I think it fine you disagree, however you must present evidence grounded in a firm grasp of the AE language.
