LOL. No, actually I was repeatedly quoting "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy". I have the title song stuck in my head ("So long and thanks for all the fish..."

No, but it can send massive amounts of fresh water into the Atlantic and screw with the jetstream to the point that no warm air reaches the poles and they completely freeze over.

This is what I understand to be the most plausible scenario with regards to the melting ice caps. They will solve their own problem, as they have done for millions of years.

I feel like a flea on the back of an elephant...and I'm thinking I'm responsible for choosing his foraging locations for the day.

Sounds counterintuitive, but stranger things have happened. Remember, the problem with global warming is that it will cause an ice age.
