I remember reading somewhere a few years back that there were less people going into scientific fields than their should be. It was a long time ago, iirc. I think that establishing places where kids can really get into science is key to assure that new minds continue to head into the various science subjects as careers. Albuquerque, NM has a really great kid's science museum called Explora. My children (2 and 8 at the time) had a blast there and learned a great deal. My son asked so many good questions there--I was really impressed.

I remember going to OMSI in Portland as a child and, although I thought it was pretty cool, alot of it seemed to be way above me. It's great that more children's science museums are being made. They fill a sorely needed niche, imo.
