In a more global context, I don't think this problem presents itself often outside the United States. At the Toronto zoo, for example, we have a wealth of information on how evolution operates and examples of animals in the displays which evidence the progress. There is a fish display that does this magnificently.
Its very disturbing that anything of a non-scientific nature is presented in a learning enviornment to the public. Why not plant a ring of mushrooms and have the display read that magical pixies reside nearby, and if you don't pour enough milk in the circle as an offering to them you run the risk of being kidnapped (Then a small scientific blurb on the mushrooms). Its the same thing.
Belief drives me nuts.
