Hi Alex
Like I said I'm all for people asking difficult questions and even simple ones, as long as when they have an answer they can't honestly reply to, they take that on board honestly.
I was once sold hook line and sinker on Hancocks Fingerprints of the Gods. I was also once a firm atheist. I'm left in a humbling position where I know fully well I can be fooled. And the only way I learnt as much was by questioning forcefully and listening. And that may make me sound like a gullible fool that goes here and there at the whim of people with clever answers. But my sincere opinion is that if you search for truth, and always question why you have an opinion on anything, you eventually find that truth is a fairly narrow path for yourself, and never the easy way. Often others that are actually looking for truth seem to be on a completely different path. I think there is some wisdom in that. It very difficult to judge between those who want the truth and those who want to feel safe or comfortable. Some of the simplest folk are safe in the truth. They are not knowledgable about anything, but they don't need to because they stand tall even though they may be bent double with back pains physically.
But questioning is always good for the rest of us, when you listen to the answers. And wanting to be accepted as part of a group purely for acceptance is rarely good for a truth seeker. There are plenty of good people for whom that is their path. But people who question and listen are on a good path. People who seek the truth above all things are on the best path.
Oh I do prattle on sometimes.
Simon
