I don't know what kind of definition you are using. The Gulf Stream contains a lot of heat because 1) there is a lot of water there and 2) it has a high heat capacity of 1 degree C per gram (cc). Another reason why bodies of water moderate climate around them is the large heat of transition needed to convert 1 gram of water to 1 gram of vapor (540 Kcal).

I don't know of any evidence that the amount of solar energy received by the earth in the last 100 years has increased. It would be good if you posted some evidence
