Doug, many years ago over on alt.native, we went through a frybread recipe swapping craze. If you do a google groups search on "alt.native" & "frybread recipe" you'll end up with more authentic recipes than you could ever use.
Eh, between my memory & what my mother said about when HER mother made it, my family didn't really have a set recipe. Sometimes they'd just use excess bread dough, other times they'd make it from scratch (I "think" using fewer ingrediants.... uh, maybe no yeast or sugar or stuff?). Myself, I've even made it using pizza dough.
