Jon, I have felt your frustration when trying to study and compare Muskogee and Miccosukee NA transcriptions. The Muskogee is said to be more tonal.The grammatical marks make little sense to me. The two tongues use much of the same vocab but were mutually unintelligible. Have you come across any problems with the l/r liquid?. When I lived in the Ft. Walton Beach, Fl area about 10-12 years ago,I had a good friend who was Thai. She could not say "R" to save her life. The "L" sound was always substituted.The Muskogee people had the same tendency according to most observers.James Adair claimed that the Muskogees could produce the "r" sound in some special cases.
