just a recap..
following are general rules in Tamil grammer....
Tamil grammer is based on the time it takes to say it.
kuril is the short form as "a" in "as"
nedil is the long form as "a" in "ass"
a kuril sound takes one second and a nedil sound takes two seconds.
Asai is equivalent to next big unit to letter, but smaller than a word. one
asai can be just one vowel, or, one consonent, or consonent+vowel, or consonent+vowel+consonent. a vowel does not follow another vowel. similarly a consonent does not follow a consonent. (consonent+vowel is
uyirmei) . here, it is better to understand that there are three forms, vowel -
uyir, consonent -
mei and consonent+vowel -
uyirmei. the third one should not be confused with consonent.
(interesting note: uyir (vowel) means soul. mei (consonent) means body).
word should not start with a consonent (it starts with uyirmei..)
so, interestingly, my name (Prema) is grammetically wrong in tamil. my name is a sanskrit one, it is not a tamil one. whenever any foreign words are imported to tamil, either they have to be translated to their meaning, or they have to be modified according to tamil grammer rules, so my name has to be Pirema (as I don't fancy translating it to
love and keeping it as my name). and there are some uyirmei which cannot come as the first letter of a name or a word... for example "Ra" or "La" (there are three "la"s and two "ra"s btw)... so, if there is a name
Lakshmi then it has to be modified to
Ilakshmi in order to make that to follow the rules of grammer.. (and that sh is not a tamil sound, so it has to become ch...etc..) no wonder nobody wants to name their child in tamil these days...
right where were we,
Asai;
naer asai - one nedil or one kuril followed (or not) by a consonent.
nirai asai - two kurils followed (or not) by a consonent.
based on how the kurils and nedils are (in sequence), and based on how many
asais form a word, words are defined as
one Asai words...
naal - near asai
malar - nirai asai
two asai words...
thaema - naer + naer
pulima - nirai + naer
koovilam - naer + nirai
karuvilam - nirai + nirai
three asai words...
thaemaangaai - naer + naer + naer
pulimaangaai - nirai + naer + naer
koovilangaai - naer + nirai + naer
karuvilangaai - nirai + nirai + naer
thaemaangani - naer + naer + nirai
pulimaangani - nirai + naer + nirai
koovilangani - naer + nirai + nirai
karuvilangani - nirai + nirai + nirai
now...
venpaa rules..
all the fellows starting with

malar - nirai asai - Y
two asai words...
thaema - naer + naer - X
pulima - nirai + naer - Y

karuvilam - nirai + nirai - Y
three asai words...

pulimaangaai - nirai + naer + naer - Y
koovilangaai - naer + nirai + naer - X
karuvilangaai - nirai + nirai + naer - Y
thaemaangani - naer + naer + nirai - X
pulimaangani - nirai + naer + nirai - Y
