Jason is neither confused nor incorrect.

What he is referring to are the group of legends linking the Flood with the pyramids. If you read his article closely, you would find that he explains that these pyramid-Flood legends represent:

Although the mediaeval pyramid-Flood legends incorporate the motif of the Flood, they are of course completely different from, and much later than, the Middle Eastern Flood myth (the earliest written version of which, as you rightly state, is to be found in the Gilgamesh epic).
