Well I watched the latest episode, and the train wreck continues. Chief Cheerleader Zoe Hawass is once again chosen by Zahi to go down and inspect a family tomb. One of the other fellows gets sick and tired of it and calls her father and complains about it. After that the same fellow gets bounced from going down into the basement to examine some things and is sent packing on a trivial administration job. She confronts one of the crew who shoots her down, and then tells Zahi she's quitting. Even when she shows up at the Serapeum, the obligatory gatekeeper is there to make sure she doesn't disturb his eminence. She finally confronts Zahi and he just says goodbye and goes back to work. It was sickening to see such a promising researcher get methodically ground down and spit out without so much as a farewell party or any accommodation for her upsets. This is the best argument against being an egyptologist that I've ever seen.
