I think I was 16 or 17 when I read LoTR, and it must have been one of the first books I read in English. It was very heavy reading for me, but I didn't at that time consider it could be anything other than the foreing language that made it so.

Still, the world created by Tolkien was something that made my imagination fly, and I enjoyed it immensely.
