Can a perspective be valid if it's wrong?

As for the 17,000 scientists you mention -- this sounds suspiciously like another claim about geologists I seem to remember your decrying -- although I'm sure you can produce the list of names of people who have allegedly signed the petition - the list is real even if it is seriously misleading.

Do you know that the petition was circulated by the Oregon Institute for Science and Medicine, an obscure body of eccentric and heavily pollitical views whose headquarters turned out to be a large tin shed and that was largely run by one family? THey have their own (very political) home schooling curriculum, one that seems to involve 13 year olds carrying cOLT .45S strapped to their waists.

The petition whose signatories included Ginger Spice and the doctors from MASH. Most of the signatories can't be identified in any way, of those that can be, few are climate specialists.

This is heading rapidly into the contemporary political arena. Let's get back on track.
