Sue,
You write, 'I really enjoyed The Avengers, but The Prisoner is far superior in artistry, originality, and opening up the world of tv to the greatness of mixing genres...'
What!
How can "The Prisoner" be superior to the "The Avengers" when the gorgeous and totally adorable Mrs Emma Peel only ever appeared in the latter?
Mutter, mutter, mutter...
Aside from his roles in "Danger Man" and "The Prisoner", I really liked his playing Dr. Carpenter (?) in "Ice Station Zebra". He acted Rock Hudson (as Commander Swanson) off the screen - mind you, that wouldn't have been too difficult.I think Patrick went on to direct and appear in some episodes of the U.S. detective series "Columbo".
He also did very well in "Braveheart" as King Edward I (Longshanks).
Coincidentally, a few months ago "John Drake's" roadster (looks a bit like a Morgan; it may even be one) was parked outside a local shop (Bournemouth, UK). It even had the Pennyfarthing logo on the bonnet. I've not seen it again since.
