The plotline, acting, and writing in "A Perfect Spy" are so great that I've decided to rate it a perfect spy ten. This show goes places that few dare and very humanly, with family history and psychology as the driving force behind the theme of betrayal. Yes, the main character is eerily similar to Philip E. Marlow, but the way he plays out his parent complex is dramatically different while at the same time quite similar. It's nice to see intelligent intricate shows like this.
Now I'm watching 2003's "State of Play," which after the first two episodes is fantastic!
Sue, very happily addicted to the greatness of British tv, for the nonce....
