I hadn't even considered that just getting through the books was a bit of a lesson unto itself.

Patience, perseverence and persistence. I wonder if it will all go to waste if Harry does die.

I think JK invented the END of the book first, and then realized the wonder was in telling the back story. That's why she's been able to carefully and beautifully construct the entire alternate reality: it had a definite endpoint, right from the very beginning.

But what if her ending isn't as good as the fruits of the rest of her imagination?

That's a bit of a worry, if you ask me.
