I don't think so. I think a big part of Snape's animosity toward Harry is because he looks like James...and I think Severus was in love with Lilly, but lost her to James. He mistook her kindness for more than she ever intended.
But, this also gives us the plot element that explains WHY Snape turned against the Death Eaters. It was when Voldemort killed Lilly that Snape snapped, and turned to Dumbledore as an ally against Voldemort and all for which he stood.
As such, I don't think his death will serve as the same kind of drama we will find when Dumbledore is finally removed from the Quidditch pitch, so to speak.
Now, that doesn't mean Snape won't be killed in the end as part of the overall struggle...especially when Voldemort finds out he's a double agent! But, I'm a bit more sentimental, and I think he will finally be promoted (by Minerva) to the Defense Against the Dark Arts position he's wanted all these years. We may also find out why he was never promoted to that... something about putting him too close to his old habits or something. Now that Voldemort is gone, he's free to do his dabbling...and there's nobody better to teach it out in the open, because he will be famous for having resisted it!
Well, that's my take, anyway.
