Both the Thoms, and Merritt, are all now dead, regrettably.] Well, as far as I can judge, Archibald Thom seems to have applied the same sort of techniques to Scandinavia as his father did to Britain and France. So, if you were to get hold of the paper and analyze its findings, it's possible that you might come up with conclusions similar to your findings on the work of Alexander Thom.

However, the people who erected the stone henges and other megalithic monuments must have had some sort of measuring system: although the general argument, AFAIK, is that the surveyors were just using the human pace, which is about the size of the Megalithic Yard; presumably, then, the argument is that the apparent variations in the size of the Megalithic Yard are nothing more nor less than the normal variations in the extent of the human pace. But one of your objections is that Thom's Megalithic Yard might vary in length as much as 1.26 feet ... Whilst it might be supposed that most grown people’s paces might vary by a few inches, would they really vary by as much as 15 inches … ?? Again, if Archibald Thom’s Scandinavian Quantum of 4.71 feet were found to be valid, what relationship might that have with the human pace?
