Hi Kat

VE is "Victory in Europe", the 61st anniversary this weekend. A day many good Americans died for. Just as died on Flanders fields in WW1, 60 000 of the bravest young men of Britain on the first day of the Somme alone, just one battle of many.

So yes its tied in with "Veteran's Day". Joint sacrifices made by people who where fathers and sons and husbands and more. I think we all remember it most at the armistice of WW1 (11/11), rightly. It was the first time we learnt how to kill each other on a global and industrial scale. Hopefully we as a world will learn to make such sacrifices a thing of the past. But those who stood their ground, and risked their lives fighting the thugs that were against love, should never be forgotten. Our own spartans of Thermopyle.
