That's what I like about converting the closet into the study ... no windows.... Jeff calls me his "little vampire" ... but with my coloring (red hair/green eyes) I've spent years shunning the light and my eyes are very sensitive to it now. So your hubby's tomb-like desire sounds right up my alley! And there is NO glare on my monitor.... heaven!
(Good choice on cherry desks! I love cherry wood...every piece of wood trim, crown molding, wainscotting etc in this house is dark cherry)
If you don't have them already look for the long power bars like the two we have ... each of them have 25 plugs and they are mountable (they'll be going above the channel in the new desk system). Is your hubby going to have the house network ready? We did as much as we could after Jeff came here ... it was cool playing games against my son with me in my room and him at the other end of the house in his room.
One of the other reasons we're going to be custom building our desks to suit us both is that Jeff finds standard height desks to be too short ... where I find standard height desks to be too tall !
In our next house (which should be our last house) I'm hoping to bring in some custom cabinet designers who can give us some ideas for the kitchen. I bought this house before I married the Jolly Geek Giant and the kitchen is totally incompatible for us both.
