So your tree is the Atlantan/Chinese equivalent of Puxatawny Phil? 
I've never been to Mardi Gras, and don't ever intend to go. I do like Chinese New Year, though, it makes me so homesick for New York! I certainly like the Chinese New Year food better than US New Year food -- I made Hoppin John this year and I thought it was awful -- but I'm the one who doesn't like southern cooking...
