Looking at the Phaistos disk I got the idea that the corrupted hieroglyph might in fact represent a solar eclipse.

From NASA data below we see how a yearly solar eclipse on Feb 14 1650 BC aligns perfectly with the island of Crete:

From wiki we read:

“At one time, data from Greenland ice cores seemed to support the radiocarbon dates. A large eruption identified in ice cores and dated to 1644 ± 20 BCE was suspected to be Santorini. However, volcanic ash retrieved from an ice core demonstrated that this was not from Santorini, leading to the conclusion that the eruption may have occurred on another date. The late Holocene eruption of the Mount Aniakchak, a volcano in Alaska, is proposed as the most likely source of the minute shards of volcanic glass in the Greenland ice core.”

The corrupted hieroglyphic symbol is 93rd on side A. It is the first symbol of the 24th phrase(31 in total on this side). Therefore it follows a total of 23 completed phrases. This helps us using the Biblical creation date – based on Orthodox Christian heritage (5508 BC), to compute this date. They used a 242 year system – because there are a total of 242 symbols on both sides of the disk – including the corrupted one. Therefore:

23 x 242 years = 5566 years

5566 years – 5508 BC = 58 AD + 1(there is no 0 AD) = 59 AD

Now lets see what happened the year 59 AD. As one can see below a total solar eclipse on April 30 59 AD aligns with the Northern part of Crete. Actually the phonetic value of the corrupted hieroglyph might in fact refer to a place in this area.

With this 242 year calendar system based on a Biblical creation date of 5508 BC, then the 31 phrases on side A, of the Phaistos disk finish off with the date:

(31 x 242) years – 5508 BC + 1 = 1995 AD

But what about after that? Since we are using the Biblical creation date is it possible that it can be pointing us to an end of times – end of the world date in the neighborhood of a prophesized 7500 or so era?

In this case instead of measuring phrases on a 242 year basis we can measure hieroglyphs one by one on a yearly basis.

In this case will notice that starting counting a second time from the center of side A – the rosette, with 1996 AD, we will continue and meet once again the corrupted symbol – the symbol of the eclipse at year 2088 AD.

(31 x 242) years – 5508 BC + 1 + 93 = 2088 AD

But at this year we have a total solar eclipse alignment not with Crete but rather with the center of Greece. The best place to observe this eclipse would be Malta. The date is April 21 2088 AD. This is 3 days after Orthodox Easter(April 18).

Does the corrupted symbol serve a double purpose, depicting an eclipse and at the same time a global catastrophe, the end of the world , or the second coming of Jesus?
