The idea that the Phaistos disk represented a calendar got me thinking that the number of disk symbols - 242 in all could represent cycles of time , 242 year periods.

In the Orthodox Christian community some believe we are living in the end of days. That the antichrist will appear shortly if he hasn't already and the end of the world with the second coming of Jesus Christ will take place.

A book has been written that is based on the gematria relation:

O ANTIXRISTOS HLThEN(the antichrist came) = 2013

Many believe that the antichrist will appear when he is an adult - 18 years old.

Lets now return to the Phaistos disk. There are 31 phrases on side A, and 30 phrases on side B. The larger number is 31.

So if this number represents time cycles of 242 years each then starting from Genesis - the center rosette of side A, we will be led to the end of the text in the perimeter of the disk , and the end of the world, at the plumed head. This way we would have read 31 phrases. The years are:

242 x 31 = 7502 years

The Orthodox Christians believe that the world was created at 5508 BC.

Therefore if one goes forth 7502 years from this date he ends up at 1995 AD. This could represent the year the antichrist is born. He will show up 18 years later or:

1995 + 18 = 2013 AD.

At first I thought that the destruction expressed on the disk related to the eruption of the Thera volcano at about 1625 BC. But it seems that it might refer to the events that follow the 21/12/2012 breaking point.
