There is a place defined by the Giza pyramids that holds the key to the 2012 alignment. If one decodes it he finds that things don't look too good.

From this coordinate, Mintaka at it's highest point at 12/21/2012 has an altitude equal to Menkaure's slope.

Second thing is that the Northern Queen chamber GP slope is equal to the Polaris altitude as seen from this position at this exact moment.

Going on we notice that at this moment - midnight , Mintaka's azimuth is very close to 180 degrees(true South).

Investigating I tried to see what happens at other years in the past - in regards to this double alignment.

The more we go back in time, let's say 1900 AD, we notice that the Mintaka slope diverges from the best calculated - Petrie Menkaure slope. This means that the architects of the pyramids seem to be pointing us to 2012 AD.

Apart from this I looked at the years when Mintaka better aligned at the same date - at midnight with South(azimuth = 180 deg).

Here is what I noticed.

There are three years when the error is only 1 second. This is the best alignment azimuth wise from 1900 AD to 2020 AD - which I checked.

Here they are:

1. 1906 AD, time 11:59:59 pm

what happened this year:

January 31 - An earthquake (8.8 on the Moment magnitude scale) and associated tsunami strikes Ecuador and Colombia.

April 18 - The 1906 San Francisco earthquake (estimated magnitude 7.8) on the San Andreas Fault destroys much of San Francisco, California, USA, killing at least 3,000, with 225,000-300,000 left homeless, and $350 million in damages.

August 16 - A magnitude 8.2 earthquake in Valparaso, Chile leaves approximately 20,000 dead.

September 18 - A typhoon and tsunami kill an estimated 10,000 in Hong Kong.

2. 1953 AD, time 11:59:59 pm

what happened this year:

February 1 The North Sea flood of 1953 kills 1,835 people in the southwestern Netherlands (especially Zeeland), 307 in the United Kingdom and several hundred at sea, including 133 on the ferry Princess Victoria in the Irish Sea.

March 17 The first nuclear test of Operation Upshot-Knothole is conducted in Nevada, with 1,620 spectators at 3.4 km (2.1 miles).

March 18 An earthquake hits western Turkey, killing 250.

May 11 The Waco tornado outbreak: A F5 tornado hits in the downtown section of Waco, Texas, killing 114.

June 8 - Flint-Worcester tornado outbreak sequence: A tornado kills 115 in Flint, Michigan (the last to claim more than 100 lives until the 2011 Joplin tornado).

August 12 A magnitude 7.2 earthquake totally devastates most of the Ionian Sea islands in Greece's worst natural disaster in centuries.(470 dead 2500 injured)

September 25 - A hurricane in South-East Asia kills over 1,000 people.

3. 2004 AD, time 12:00:01 am

what happened this year:

January 3 Flash Airlines Flight 604 crashes into the Red Sea off the coast of Egypt, killing all 148 aboard.

February 2 An 11-story apartment building collapses in Konya, Turkey, killing more than 90 residents.

February 14 - The roof of the Transvaal water park in Moscow collapses, killing 25 and injuring more than 100.

February 18 A train carrying a convoy of petrol, fertilizer, and sulfur derails and explodes in Iran, killing 320 people.

February 24 A 6.5 Richter scale earthquake in Northern Morocco hits in the Rif mountains near the city of Al Hoceima, killing 400. Ait Kamara is destroyed; 517 are killed.

April 22 - Ryongchon disaster: Two trains carrying explosives and fuel collide in Ryongchon, North Korea, killing 161 people, injuring 1,300 and destroying thousands of homes.

June 8 - The first transit of Venus since 1882 occurs; the next one will occur in 2012.

August 13 Hurricane Charley kills 27 people in Florida, after killing 4 in Cuba and 1 in Jamaica. Charley makes landfall near Cayo Costa, FL as a Category 4 hurricane. Charley is the most intense hurricane to strike the United States since Hurricane Andrew in 1992.

August 24 Two airliners in Russia, carrying a total of 89 passengers, crash within minutes of each other after flying out of Domodedovo International Airport, leaving no survivors. Authorities suspect suicide attacks by rebels from Chechnya to be the cause of the crashes.

September 9 - Typhoon Songda hits western Japan, killing 45 and injuring another 1,352.

September 16 Hurricane Ivan strikes Gulf Shores, Alabama, as a Category 3 storm, killing 25 in Alabama and Florida, becoming the 3rd costliest hurricane in American history (currently the 4th following the destruction of 2005's Hurricane Katrina).

September 17 - Hurricane Jeanne causes mudslides in Haiti, killing 3006.

September 23 - Mount St. Helens becomes active again.Tropical Storm Ivan, having come around and reformed in the Gulf of Mexico, makes its final landfall near Cameron, Louisiana, to little effect. In total, the storm kills 92 people.

October 21 - Typhoon Tokage kill 98, injured 552 in western Japan.

October 23 - A Magnitude 6.7 earthquake and aftershocks of similar scale occur in the Tokamachi area. A huge landslide occurs on the outskirts of Nagaoka. According to Japanese officials, 68 people are killed, 4,085 are injured, and 103,000 are rendered homeless.

November 16 - A train crash near Bundaberg, Queensland, Australia, injures 150 people.

November 28 - An coal mine explosion in China kills over 150.

December 26 - One of the worst natural disasters in recorded history hits Southeast Asia, when the strongest earthquake in 40 years hits the entire Indian Ocean region. The massive 9.3 magnitude earthquake, epicentered just off the west coast of the Indonesian island of Sumatra, generates enormous tsunami waves that crash into the coastal areas of a number of nations including Thailand, India, Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Malaysia, Myanmar, Bangladesh, and Indonesia. The official death toll in the affected countries stands at 186,983 while more than 40,000 people are still missing.

December 30 A fire in a Buenos Aires night club (Republica Cromagnon) kills 194 people during a rock concert.

And this brings us to the present. This year Mintaka transit occurs 12:03:08. That's way off. But the next year, that is when winter solstice aligns with the galactic equator, we have:

12:00:12

12 seconds difference. In Hellenic time style:

12:00:12 21/12/2012

Weird. This all means that the Japan quake/tsunami might be a prelude of what awaits. This alignment is also telling us to go to high ground - top of a mountain - but also away from the sea - tsunami danger. The internal structure of the pyramids - could be an indication that we should look for shelter in a cave.

Data is from wiki.
