I think what Anthony means is that the shafts in the GP were multi-pharaoh (or initiate) symbols; shafts do not appear in the others because the set in the GP did the job for everyone. How's that sound?

Yup. Another excellent point. Unworthy souls? They didn't even get a 'cardinal direction' in which to 'die' in, remember [the beast below the scales in the judgment hall]? Such souls ceased to exist in any realm - forever and ever. They went 'nowhere'.
