<HTML>Let's imagine you live 5000 years ago.
You don't know the world is round. (Sorry to all those who want the Pyramid to be a 43,200:1 model of the northern hemisphere).
You believe the world is a flat plane.
The stars move around in the sky over your plain.
Now, other than the center of the celestial whirlpool, which way is up?
Well, that would be the direction from which the Nile flows. That is UP, because it must be UP for the great river to flow DOWN... which water does, you know.
Now, all we have behind us is this center point, around which the stars spin. Why do they spin from there? Who knows. Maybe it's just the "bottom" of the universe.
Because, you see... we don't understand that our planet is a sphere, and Polaris (or whatever star is there precessionally) is directly above the North Pole. North, as a concept, is irrelevant. The only thing in THAT direction is that funny star. Without a compass, we don't have MAGNETIC north to tell us that there's something more important in that direction.
Especially since the rising constellation where Osiris sits is over the source of our lifeblood... the Nile.
Having a concept of Magnetic North is what Krupp NEEDS in order to maintain his "North is important" thesis. Without the concept of "North", then all we have is a top and a bottom to the celestial landscape.
And north is the bottom.
I think a FAR more important question here is WHY did they think Orion was important? (Not that they SAW Orion as the 12 star system that we see today, but the 3 stars that we know as Orion's BELT).
Those three stars sure do stand out. I see them every morning while I'm drinking coffee, standing on my front doorstep. They sure do tend to dominate.
Oh, and why not build all 12 stars (or seven, for the body)?
Those three are clearly the heart of the formation. The big squished "H"... it's the center. Maybe that's all that mattered.... creating a mock-up of the center of the "H", because with just that, you could represent all that was significant about all seven.
Just my thoughts, but I think it is MANDATORY that we remove our understanding of magnetic north, spherical planets, and replace it with a terracentric conception of reality.
