<HTML>Mikey,
My area of study is prehistoric megalithic construction technology. I also happen to be very experienced (and trained) in human behaviourism and anthropology.
In all my posts, I have just tried to bring a skewed common sense. I try to make the ancient people behave according to MY understanding of current psychologies.
There are too many times when I see ancient peoples relegated to an almost "cartoonish" depiction of simpletons. Their religious/philosophical beliefs are often presented in a "mocking" fashion... followed by a chuckle or a grin of smug superiority.
These people were no less complex than the international investment bankers in London or New York. They were no less intelligent than the tenured folks at Cambridge or Harvard.
They were no more likely to "follow blindly" than the watchers of Jerry Springer... or the readers of Von Daniken.
They were REAL people... just like us. Whenever you've been "annoyed" with me, it's probably been a time when I was attempting to add a modern behavioural spin onto ancient evidence.
That, or I was calling you out for being, as I perceived, closed-minded to other possibilities. I have developed quite a bit of healthy respect for you and your experience over the last several months, Mikey. I am far more likely to defer to your opinion these days than challenge it.
But, it is that initial challenging that has led me to the respect I now have for you.
Part and parcel, I guess.
Thanks for your words. I'm glad you read my "annoying" posts anyway.
