Hi David,
The Indians at Moundville also elongated their skulls unfortunately I didn't get a picture of the device they used to do this.
I'm glad you mentioned the mesoamerican connection, to me a lot of the art looks very similar to mesoamerican art ..... the gorget and the Rattlesnake Disk certainly are examples .... here's another from the Etowah Mounds in Georgia (it's on my list of "to do" places btw)
(Image no longer on the net)
To me this copper plate screams of Mexico...... I don't have any way of showing this next one except to show a picture of part of the front of the Museum.
You'd have to blast your way through those doors wouldn't you?
Look at the face in the border along the top of the Museum, this graphic was common at Moundville (and I somehow missed pictures of it, I think I was swatting my 35th millionth mosquito about that time), the face looks very mesoamerican to me.
Throw in the fact that we really aren't that far apart ...........
Kat
PS.....
Me tell Zecharia Sitchin? ~lol~ I wouldn't want him in Alabama .... so I couldn't inflict that on a fellow southern state either ....
