<HTML>I should have added that there were obvious signs that these people expected or were engaged in a war (or at least were attacked) surrounding the mounds was a wall made of large vertical logs with towers placed at several spots along it .... only where the river provided some protection was there no wall and all the people lived inside the enclosure.

Mounds C and D are in perfect spots to be additional "guard" stations to watch the river ...
