<HTML>Katherine, the University of Texas finally got around to publishing their report of the excavation of the Sanders Site in Lamar County Texas 1931.It was the second most important mound yet found west of the Mississippi and was directly connected by a trade route up the Kiamichi River to the famous Spiro Mound complex in Oklahoma. Most interesting were the photos of a gorget similar to the one you show only of the buzzard cult and almost completely intact. The buzzard cult like the rattlesnake stone strongly support a Mesoamerican connection.More interesting was the photo of the "royalty"buried at Sanders with elongated skulls, not flattened at the forehead as is common among the Caddoan Temple Mound culture but elongated from the back like Nefertiti without the headgear. Please don't tell Zecharia Sitchin about this.</HTML>
