<HTML>Kat, Garrett,

I don't think Robert is opposing the sentiments you express. None of us are defending terrorism or suggesting that we treat the guilty parties leniently. As Garrett states the Taliban and bin Laden want to live in a world centred on medieval Islamic principles and none of us can tolerate those aims or accept the means by which they set about them.

Nobody is suggesting we debate or talk with these groups - they are beyond reason and diplomacy. However, we need to understand why parts of the Arab and Moslem world hold such contempt for the US and until the US understands that in parts of the world they are considered to be the evil aggressor themselves we will once again be subjected to further acts of terrorism.
