<HTML>I understand your point about innocent civilians Robert .... my husband Jeff served in the Navy during the Gulf War (which I didn't support btw) .... one of the missles his ship fired went off target and hit a civilian area .... Jeff said all the guys on the ship were horrified .... it's my understanding that the anti aircraft fire that was being shot up hit the missle and took it just enough off target to go terribly astray ....

However ... all that said .... I can tell you the American military does it's best not to target areas were civilians are located ... which can make it difficult since some people ... like Saddam ... tend to hide in areas where civilians are located ... knowing we won't bomb them there ....
