Hyperdiffusion. And there have been countless posts here about each of the individual items in the link. All of which supposedly safely debunked any or all of them.
One has to understand that the real permitted story is independent development with NO contact permitted. Let alone contact from over the seas.
What we are supposed to believe is that the largest and planned dispora over wide tracks of the sea just conveniently stopped at all points before it reached the mainland of north or south ameerica. Something like the wallace line. This far and no further. The Polynesian dispora was NOT accidental sailing and discovery but planned colonization. It was NOT just outward one way but back and forth over the Pacific.
Yet again it magically stopped before venturing to the mainland.
There is a rwasion why the stop could have occured. The initial colonization was on virgin or almost virgin islands. Any initial contact with the mainland would have clearly indicated someone was already here and doing fine. Unlike the later Europeans from another direction who came and stayed anyway the polynesians may very well have been satisfied with visiting and trade. That would have left just the limited evidence that we see.
